The Legend Of One Of Ann Arbor's
Most Notorious Bands
This page is about Barbed Wire Play Pen, a band
formed back in the early 90's by Rob Banks and his brother Pete. As time went on and members and musical genres changed, the
line-up was centralized around bassist Rob Banks, Guitarist Time D'Annunzio and vocalist John "Rastafari" Griffin. The line-up
also included several second guitarists, drummers, and a few singers but overall between 1992 and 1995, the trio of Banks,
D'Annunzio, and Rastafari were the core of the band. They started off playing underground gigs, eventually moving on to bars
and other cities. But tensions grew between them and eventually Rastafari left the band in November of 1995, the rest of the
band calling it quits soon after.
